Health Liability Waiver
Last updated:11 September 2026
This document applies to anyone attending Pilates, osteopathy, facials, breathwork, or TMJ release sessions with The Salty Sanctuary ("we", "us", "our") Online or In person at Light Centre, 151 Clapham High St, London SW4 7SS, or any other location we specify.
1. Health Disclosure
To take part in any of our Services safely, you must tell us about anything relevant to your health, including but not limited to:
current or past injuries, surgeries, or medical conditions;
pregnancy or recent childbirth;
heart conditions, blood pressure issues, or circulatory conditions;
respiratory conditions (particularly relevant for breathwork);
skin conditions, allergies, or sensitivities (particularly relevant for facials);
jaw, dental, or TMJ-related conditions or previous dental work (particularly relevant for TMJ release);
medications you are currently taking; and
anything your GP or another healthcare provider has advised you about physical activity or manual treatment.
You agree to keep this information up to date, and to tell your practitioner or teacher immediately if anything changes, including during a session (for example, if you feel unwell, dizzy, or in pain).
If you have been advised by a doctor not to take part in physical activity, exercise, or manual therapy, please tell us before booking, so we can discuss whether and how we can safely accommodate you.
2. Informed Consent
For osteopathy, facials, breathwork, and TMJ release in particular, your practitioner will, before treatment:
explain what the treatment involves, in a way you can understand;
explain the reasonably foreseeable risks and expected benefits;
answer any questions you have; and
ask for your consent before proceeding.
You have the right to:
ask questions at any point;
decline any part of a proposed treatment;
stop a session at any time, for any reason; and
ask your practitioner to explain anything you don't understand.
Your practitioner will check in with you as your treatment progresses, particularly if your treatment plan changes.
3. Pilates and Physical Activity
Pilates and other physical exercise involves a degree of ordinary physical exertion and effort. By taking part, you confirm that:
you believe yourself to be in suitable physical condition to take part, or have disclosed anything that might affect this (see Section 1);
you understand it is your responsibility to work within your own physical limits and to stop or modify any exercise that causes pain or discomfort beyond normal exertion;
If you experience pain, dizziness, or any other form of ‘illness’ you must stop the exercise and/or class; and
you will seek medical advice first if you are in any doubt about whether it's safe for you to take part.
4. Pregnancy & Post Partum
If you are pregnant, please tell us before booking Pilates, osteopathy, breathwork, or any other Service, so we can discuss what's appropriate. As general guidance, it's inadvisable to take part in some forms of exercise during certain stages of pregnancy (8-14 weeks) without your practitioner's specific input — always check with your midwife, GP, or obstetrician first if you have any concerns.
Classes will be labelled ‘pregnancy friendly or pre-natal’, if this is not stated the class is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant.
It is recommended to get clearance from your mid wife, GP or healthcare provider before resuming exercise after birth. Please ensure you consult with a medical professional before restarting exercise, including Pilates.
5. No Guarantee of Outcome
While we will always use reasonable skill and care, we do not guarantee any specific result, outcome, or level of improvement from any treatment or class.
6. Emergency Contact
For osteopathy, in person events and other treatment-based sessions, we may ask you to provide an emergency contact name and phone number, to be used only if needed for your safety during a session.
7. Acknowledgement
By booking, attending or taking part in a class or session, you confirm & agree that:

you are physically and mentally fit and well enough to participate;
